Neon signs are still the brightest overall, and prices are competitive with LED signs. The biggest thing going for neon signs is that it has been the norm for more than a decade and has an established track record with business looking for light advertisement for their front windows. Some say that LED lights are not consistent and leave bright spots where neon signs is smooth. Another problem with LED is that the light is directional and can only be seen from the front and neon is seen at three hundred and sixty degrees making it brighter. Another comparison between LED and neon signs are the colors. LED lights are limited in the use of colors, where, neon is not limited. With neon the colors all shine just as brightly as the others. Besides what do you think of when you here neon; Vegas, and or bars, both places to have a good time. So neon is nostalgic in that it reminds us of good times we have had and want to have again. So don’t count out neon or LED because they both have their good points and their bad points but I am sure we will see more on this subject in the future.
